My slack integration is sending "Successful deployment" messages 1-2 times every hour despite deployments being much less frequent than that.
I tried recreating the webhook in slack but that has had no effect.

Your service has App Sleeping (sleep-when-idle) enabled, which means it spins down when idle and spins back up when a request comes in. Each wake-up is a deployment status change, so the project webhook fires a "Successful deployment" notification to Slack every time the service wakes. The frequency you are seeing (1-2 times per hour) matches inbound traffic waking the service periodically. If the repeated notifications are unwanted, you can either disable App Sleeping in the service's deploy settings or filter the webhook events to exclude the deployment states you do not want to be notified about.

The only event that is selected for the webhook is deployment deployed. This should not happen on wake up, that isn't a deployment.

Wake up is a deployment, but I can see how a notification for that is undesirable. Your feedback has been duly noted.

Ok that does make sense actually, now that you say that. Semantically it may not be but speaking in terms of what is happening behind the scenes, it is a deployment.
Thank you for Clarifying Brody.
