Dear Railway team, I was trying to sync data from my production to staging and somehow deleted all data from my production, fortunately I took backup before doing this on railway (I also have daily backup enabled) and I am trying to restore the Postgres data but not able to do so, could you please help as soon as you can. Thank you!

Hey, can you elaborate more on why you can't restore the backup yourself? Please include the error message if there is one. The regular procedure for restoring a backup would be to just hover and click Restore on the backup you want to restore. Afterwards, the volume of your Postgres database will be swapped with the newly created backup (don't forget to apply the changes for the volume swap to actually happen, aborting the changes will leave the volume unchanged, while the backup is just sitting there not mounted to anything).

I took a manual backup but it didnt restore anything but the scheduled backup restored postgres db, I did lost 1 hour of data entries but it was manageable so all good. Although I dont understand why the backup I created manually on railway was empty.

Interesting, this is odd and shouldn't be the case, especially when the backup is made when there is data in the volume. Have you managed to reproduce this behavior with a different Database service?
