Hi I could have projects including red-rose-backend-server have been switched to Serverless and are not being used at the moment. They do not go to sleep and I am still getting charged. Can you please advise? Thanks

Hi there,

Serverless mode only scales down services when there is no traffic. I see ingress in the service, which is why it's staying up.

Best,

Hey, you can check the metrics for your service by clicking on your service and navigating to the metrics tab.

If you want to debug further on who is making these requests, click on your service, select an active deployment (usually highlighted in green), and then click on HTTP logs. There, you can see all requests your application is receiving and identify who is making them.

Please see the screenshot attached. Also going to http logs show this - "No logs in this time range Logs will show up here as they are found."

You're receiving external traffic as previously mentioned. Regarding the HTTP logs, how old is your deployment? HTTP logs are deployment-specific, and if your deployment is recent, it may not contain all logs. Also, do you have any kind of TCP proxy attached to your service?

It's a few weeks old. It looks like there is something like a ping every 6 hours, but it should still go to sleep in between? Sorry, no TCP proxy attached to your service.

Yeah, it should still go to sleep in between. What makes you think that it doesn't go to sleep?

In Architecture tab, that service node does not ever have "Sleeping since .. hours ago", while other do. Please see the screenshot attached again showing that for many hours there was no traffic in or out.

There are many more reasons why your service wouldn't go to sleep. You can find a comprehensive list here: https://docs.railway.com/reference/app-sleeping#inactive-service-detection
