Set RAM limit to less than 1GB?

We've run across this problem numerous times now, as we primarily run Node applications which are gc'd – our applications are quite happy to consume whatever RAM they are allocated.

Our primary lever of control has been the Railway Resource Limits (Memory), but it only goes down to 1GB.

I'd like to request that this range goes in increments of 256MB or something similar.

If I understand correctly, Railway bills at the MB/second unit price level, so I don't see why this should not be an easy adjustment to make.

Thanks!

Hello,

Does this mean you are okay with your app crashing whenever it reaches 256MB?

For example, the trial plan is limited for 500MB and we often have to answer support requests asking why their app has crashed.

We'd likely run at 500MB, not 256, but yes of course we'd expect the app to crash if it exceeds – that's the existing behaviour.

Note that platforms like Heroku run on 512 by default.

Hey Isaac. I'll ticket this. No promises but I think we should be able to allow "down to" 500mb
