I'm trying to set up a custom domain that is currently hosted on Squarespace. I have some custom set up in there already to support email sending via a service so would really like to avoid transferring to cloudflare if possible.
I've seen threads in the past that mention that squarespace doesn't support root level domains. However it looks like that may be out of date as I can now add an alias record for that purpose.
Current set up
The domain I'm trying to add is wholebodywellnesscollective.com
Railway tells me to set a CNAME @ p0qulcso.up.railway.app
In squarespace I have set records
- ALIAS @ p0qulcso.up.railway.app
- CNAME www p0qulcso.up.railway.app
When I dig @8.8.8.8 wholebodywellnesscollective.com A
I see wholebodywellnesscollective.com. 60 IN A 35.212.94.98
(I read that y'all use google's DNS to look for records so I think this is right?)
That IP seems to match: dig p0qulcso.up.railway.app
returnsp0qulcso.up.railway.app. 60 IN CNAME trestle.proxy.rlwy.net.
trestle.proxy.rlwy.net. 217 IN A 35.212.94.98
This all seems like it's set up right, but what am I missing? Is this set up really not supported? Or is there any way to get things working properly?
