SFTP timeout — need to export data from a stopped volume

Hello,

I need to export approximately 77 MB of data from an existing READY volume attached to a stopped service.

Railway CLI versions 5.57.12 and 5.62.1 both fail with:

"Failed to initialize SFTP session: Timeout"

I cannot start the original application or risk modifying the existing data.

Could Railway staff confirm whether an offline, read-only export is possible?

If not, what is the safest supported recovery procedure that does not start the original application?

I would also like to understand any costs or potential side effects before proceeding.

Please provide guidance only. I do not authorize any changes to my resources.

Thank you!

There's no way to access volume data if the application is stopped, but you can change the start command to sleep infinity and your service will starts without running your actual code or image, then you can access the volume data from the CLI or the Service Console
