small Billing SaaS application for retail shops

Hi Railway Team,

I'm developing a small Billing SaaS application for retail shops using Next.js, PostgreSQL (Neon) and Docker.

Before choosing Railway, I'd like to clarify:

  1. Is the Hobby plan ($5/month, including $5 usage credit) permitted for a commercial SaaS application?
  2. Can I store real shop invoices, customer information and inventory records?
  3. Is the Singapore deployment region available on Hobby?
  4. Can I deploy directly from GitHub using my existing Dockerfile?
  5. Are there any additional charges beyond the $5 minimum?

I'm a solo developer looking for affordable hosting for an initial small-business pilot.

Thank you!

Hobby is positioned for personal projects, and for a commercial application we recommend the Pro plan ($20/month, including $20 of usage) for higher resource limits and priority support. Hobby works fine for testing a pilot first.

Your invoices, customer and inventory records would live in your Neon PostgreSQL database, not on our infrastructure, unless you add a database or volume on Railway. For our security and compliance documentation, see trust.railway.com.

Yes, Southeast Asia (Singapore) is one of our four deploy regions, alongside US West, US East and EU West, and you choose it per service in its settings. You can connect your GitHub repository as the service source, and each push to the linked branch builds and deploys automatically.

The $5 Hobby fee includes $5 of resource usage (CPU, memory, egress). If usage goes over that in a billing cycle, you pay the difference, so $8 of usage means an $8 bill. Builds themselves are not billed. You can set usage limits under Workspace Usage to keep costs in check.
