SMTP - Broken Application due to Timeout when sending mails

Hello Railway Support,

we are running a production application on Railway where SMTP mail delivery is a critical functionality. Until recently, our application was able to send emails via SMTP.

Since a few days, this functionality has stopped working. Our customers are complaining because features that rely on email notifications are now broken. This is causing serious issues in production.

Could you please clarify what has changed regarding outbound SMTP traffic on Railway?

  • Is SMTP (port 587 / STARTTLS) now blocked?

  • If so, what alternatives or solutions are available to restore email sending from our application?

We urgently need to restore SMTP functionality, as it is business-critical.

I have even redeployed all my services. Did not change anything. The application still throws SMTP Errors.

@Railway we really need your help!

They say in other thread, they pass smtp now only in pro and enterprise accounts, but..same here

Hello,

Outbound SMTP is allowed on the Pro plan, please do a full redeploy of your service for the new allow rules to take effect.

I did redeploy the servive and it still is not working. I even removed it and deployed it. The rules do not seem to apply

I can confirm that your application cannot do outbound SMTP, that should not be the case, going to raise this to the infra team.
