Static Ip changed

I am currently on the $20 plan, which includes access to the static IP feature. However, we are facing a recurring issue where the IP address assigned to us is being automatically changed without any request from our end.

Previously, the IP was changed unexpectedly, and we had to request our third-party service providers to update their whitelists to the new IP. Unfortunately, this issue has occurred again — the IP has been changed by the system (possibly Railway) without any notification or action on our part.

Note: We did not raise any request to change the IP.

This has directly impacted our business, as several third-party services dependent on the static IP have stopped working.

I kindly request you to:

  • Investigate why the IP is changing automatically.

  • Confirm if this behavior is expected on the $20 plan.

  • Provide a permanent resolution to prevent further disruptions.

This is a business-critical issue, and a prompt resolution would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

We recently moved your services to railway metal, as communicated over the last few months by email. As part of this migration, static outbound IPs had to be changed, as the old ones were not available to our metal fleet.

This is a one-time action that we took to move your service to our metal region, and will not reoccur in the future.

I'm deeply sorry for the inconvenience this caused to your business. I've gone ahead and credited $20 in railway credits on your account as compensation.

You can learn more about the metal migration here: https://docs.railway.com/reference/migrate-to-railway-metal

Best,

Nicolas
