Stuck on DNS

Hey, hoping someone can help. My custom domain www.departmentintelligence.com has been stuck on "Waiting for DNS update" in Railway for over 12 hours despite DNS being correctly configured. I noticed there was a DNS resolution failure incident on Railway today and I think my domain got stuck during that outage and needs to be manually re-provisioned.

Here's what I've verified:

  • dig www.departmentintelligence.com CNAME resolves correctly to the assigned Railway CNAME (ajh7txmi.up.railway.app)
  • The CNAME shows a green checkmark in Railway's own DNS records panel
  • I've since moved to Cloudflare for DNS management and the record is set to DNS only (not proxied) The TXT verification record (_railway-verify) is also in place

The domain reaches Railway — I get Railway's own "Not Found" page — but it's not routing to my service. Everything on the DNS side appears correct, Railway just doesn't seem to be picking it up.

Is there anything on Railway's end that can trigger a manual re-check or force the domain to provision? Any help appreciated!

If you wish to use www, you should also be adding @.

Also, make sure to add the designated TXT records.

I ran nslookup and it seems like you added CNAME records for www but not @. You also added TXT records for @ but not for www.

Make sure your TXT records correctly match whichever domain record you added.

Awesome, thank you so much. Just one other thing, I don't think that the SSL certificate has been issued yet for www.departmentintelligence.com, is there a way for it to triggered manually or will I just have to wait? I don't like how the URL looks on chrome with the Not Secure warning right beside i

Hey! Your domain is working correctly now - SSL is valid and serving. Let us know if you need anything else!
