Trying to add a custom domain I get an generic error message "error adding domain - failed to process request". Then if I try to add the domain again it says it's unavailable. If I try a different domain the same thing happens.
The service is running in eu-west

I've just seen the service incident re custom domains. Assume this is related.

I can see my custom domain now but after having added my CNAME record it's just stuck "issuing TLS certificate". Also generating a railway domain doesn't seem to be working either.

You will want to remove and re-add any domains you have added in the last ~5 hours or so.
