As of two days I get prompted to add TXT records now when adding subdomains for services. TXT records don't verify at all and seem to be broken. CName records are just fine. Experienced the same behavior across Cloudflare & Namecheap DNS. A fellow engineer also tried independently and failed.

Can you show how you added the TXT record?

Okay I identified the terrible DX… the CName uses a relative name (not including the domain) but the TXT uses an absolute name (including the domain).

Thank you for the report. We are going to ship a fix to strip the zone from the TXT's name.
