Unable to access my existing project after upgrading to the Hobby Plan Service: eloquent-endurance / quest-content-os

Hello Railway Support,

I need your assistance with my Railway workspace after upgrading to the Hobby Plan.

I recently upgraded because I wanted to continue developing my existing application, quest-content-os.

However, after upgrading, Railway appears to have created a new Hobby workspace called Quest Video Engine, while my existing project remains in my original workspace.

My problem is that:

My existing project quest-content-os is still deployed and working in the original workspace.

My new Hobby workspace is completely empty.

I cannot find any Transfer Project, Move Project, or Transfer Ownership option anywhere in the current Railway interface.

I do not want to recreate the project or lose my deployments, environment variables, databases, or configuration. I have already spent many hours building and configuring everything.

Could you please help me with one of the following?

Move my existing quest-content-os project into my new Hobby workspace; or

Apply my paid Hobby subscription to the workspace that already contains my existing project.

My goal is simply to continue using my existing deployment under my paid Hobby plan without rebuilding the project from scratch.

If there is a different process in the current Railway interface, I would appreciate detailed instructions.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Kind regards,

Quest Smart Solutions

Your project "quest-content-os" is already in your "questsmartsoluk-stack's Projects" workspace, which is on the Hobby plan, so it is already running under a paid subscription. Your second workspace "Quest Video Engine" is a separate Hobby subscription. If you'd prefer to consolidate, you can transfer the project by going to the project's Settings page and clicking "Transfer Project" to move it to the other workspace. Alternatively, if you only need one Hobby workspace, you can cancel the empty one from its billing settings to avoid paying for two subscriptions.

Hello Railway Support,

Thank you for your previous response.

I would like to clarify my situation because I think there has been a misunderstanding.

I only purchased one Hobby subscription, and it is for my new workspace called Quest Video Engine.

My existing project, quest-content-os, is still located in my original Trial workspace.

My objective is not to create a new project or rebuild my application. I simply want to move my existing quest-content-os project from the Trial workspace into my paid Quest Video Engine Hobby workspace.

However, I have carefully checked the project settings, service settings, and workspace settings, and I cannot find the "Transfer Project" option anywhere in the current Railway interface.

Could you please help me with one of the following?

Tell me the exact location of the Transfer Project option in the current Railway UI, or

Transfer the quest-content-os project from my Trial workspace into my Quest Video Engine Hobby workspace, if this can only be done by Railway Support.

I have already spent considerable time configuring this project, and I would like to continue using the existing deployment rather than recreating it from scratch.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Kind regards,

Quest Smart Solutions Lt

To correct our earlier message, both your workspaces are on the Hobby plan, so you are eligible to transfer projects between them. Inside the project you want to move, go to Settings (the "Settings" button at the top right of the project canvas), scroll down, and you will find the "Transfer Project" button, which lets you select the destination workspace. Full instructions are here: Transferring Projects.

Hello,

Thank you for the clarification.

I have followed the instructions you provided.

I opened my quest-content-os project, went to Project Settings (top right of the project canvas), and checked all the sections, including the Danger section at the bottom.

Unfortunately, there is no "Transfer Project" button anywhere in my project settings.

I have also searched the settings using the filter, but the option does not appear.

Could you please help me determine why the Transfer Project button is missing?

Specifically, could you let me know:

Is there a permission or role requirement that would prevent the button from appearing?

Is the button hidden because my project is still in a Trial workspace?

Has the location of the button changed in the current Railway UI?

If possible, could you provide a screenshot of where the Transfer Project button should appear in the current interface, or check my account to see why it is not visible?

My goal is simply to transfer my existing quest-content-os project into my paid Quest Video Engine Hobby workspace without recreating the project.

Thank you for your assistance.

Your source workspace ("questsmartsoluk-stack's Projects") is currently in its Hobby trial period and has not yet converted to a paid subscription, while your "Quest Video Engine" workspace has an active paid Hobby subscription. The transfer documentation requires both the source and destination to have an active Hobby or Pro subscription, which may explain why the button is not appearing. You can add a payment method and subscribe on the source workspace from its billing settings to convert it to a paid Hobby plan, then check the project settings again for the Transfer Project option.

Hello,

Thank you for the clarification.

I now understand that the Transfer Project button is unavailable because my source workspace is still in the Hobby trial, while my destination workspace (Quest Video Engine) has the active paid Hobby subscription.

However, I do not believe I should have to purchase a second Hobby subscription simply to move my own project between two workspaces under the same account.

My intention was to upgrade my existing development environment, not to maintain two paid workspaces.

Could you please advise whether Railway Support can:

move the quest-content-os project into my paid Quest Video Engine workspace, or

transfer the paid Hobby subscription to the workspace containing my existing project,

without requiring me to purchase a second Hobby subscription?

I would appreciate your assistance, as I have already invested significant time configuring this project and would like to avoid unnecessary duplicate subscriptions.

Thank you.

There is a simpler path that avoids a second subscription entirely. Since your "Quest Video Engine" workspace is empty, you can cancel that Hobby subscription from its billing settings, then subscribe to the Hobby plan on your original workspace ("questsmartsoluk-stack's Projects") where your project already lives. Your project, deployments, environment variables, and databases all stay exactly as they are, and you end up with a single paid workspace with no transfer needed.
