Refund Request – Domain Purchase / No Custom DNS Support

Hi Railway Team,

I recently purchased a domain through Railway and linked it to my frontend app. At the time of purchase, I assumed I would have standard DNS management capabilities — the same you'd expect from any domain registrar.

I now realize, after reading the documentation and the community, that Railway does not support custom DNS records. This is a blocker for my project, as I need to configure an email service which requires adding MX and TXT records.

Had this limitation been clearly communicated before purchase, I would not have bought the domain here.

I'd like to ask:

- Is a refund possible given this situation?

- If refunded, will the domain also be released so I can register it with another provider that supports full DNS management?

I'd appreciate your help resolving this as soon as possible, as it's currently blocking my project.

DNS for domains purchased through Railway is fully managed, and we don't currently support adding custom records like MX or TXT. You can request a refund for the domain purchase from your billing page. Once refunded, the domain will be released and you can register it through an external registrar with full DNS control, then connect it to your Railway services as a custom domain.
