Unable to export PostgreSQL data after Trial expired

Hello Railway team,

My Trial has expired and my PostgreSQL service is now offline. I need to migrate my database to another provider, but I cannot activate the Hobby plan because my Russian-issued bank card is not accepted.

My PostgreSQL volume is still attached to the service and contains important catalog data that I need to preserve.

I only need one-time access to export the existing PostgreSQL database. I do not need to continue running the application on Railway.

Could you please provide a way to export/download the database, temporarily start the PostgreSQL service for migration, or otherwise retrieve the data from the existing volume?

I can provide the Project ID, Service ID and Volume ID if needed.

Thank you!

We're not able to temporarily reactivate services or export data from workspaces with an expired trial. The way to regain access is to subscribe to the Hobby plan ($5/month) at your billing page - once subscribed, your Postgres service comes back online with its volume data intact, and you can run pg_dump yourself. A bank-issued credit or debit card is required to subscribe, and no alternative payment methods are available on self-serve plans.

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, subscribing to the Hobby plan is not possible in my case because Railway does not accept my Russian-issued bank card, and I do not have access to another supported payment method.

The PostgreSQL volume still exists and contains important data. I am not asking to continue using Railway for free — I only need a one-time opportunity to retrieve/export my existing database before the volume is deleted.

Could a Railway team member please confirm whether there is any manual recovery or export option available in this situation?

Thank you.

We're not able to manually export, temporarily reactivate, or grant one-time access to data on workspaces without an active plan. Subscribing to a paid plan is the only path to bring services back online, at which point you can run pg_dump yourself. Your volume data remains attached and intact until the workspace is deleted, so it will be there whenever you're able to subscribe.
