We've been unable to rebuild/redploy our DB. Something was wrong with it and it was unreachable, after trying to redeploy, it just keeps trying to build. These are the logs:

It's also not allowing me to try to restore a backup. It says "Backup restoration failed, Volume is busy: Creating a new volume from backup"

have tried everything, i let claude ssh in and it found that there's some blocks in the volume that hang when read. It claims it's a hardware issue on Railway's side

I restored a backup that is 3 days old, and that runs and works. When we try to reload the volume that wasn't working, it doesn't work. Why is my recent data corrupted? What is going on?

Worked for me defining NO_CACHE=1 on environments.

Where do you do that?

To be clear, the issue isn't just that you can't redeploy, it's also that you (and your services) can't connect to the DB

@Brody apologies for the @, but given the volume of folks complaining is this something you guys could prio?

My service just came back online. I'm not sure if related, but I detached the volume from my instance, removed the existing deployment, waited a while, then reattached and deployed a new instance. Hopefully this isn't just a temporary thing

Back online as of about 10 minutes ago. Was down for 5+ hours.

is this issue still going?

if normal redeploy didn't help, try redeploy source image

open your database service > open the command palette (or Ctrl+K if you're on PC) > choose "Redeploy source image"

No response from Railway? The problem is just magically fixed? My team spent hours trying to get to the bottom of this.

The issue has resolved itself, but I am frustrated. While I understand that technical problems can arise, this was clearly a Railway issue, and there was no communication regarding it. Several of my engineers dedicated time to debugging today. Lack of communication with affected customers is unacceptable. Status.Railway.com shows that everything is fully operational.

Just want to remind everyone that help threads on Discord are not actively monitored and come with no guarantees whatsoever, be that a reply from an admin or even a reply from a community member.

Going forward, for platform issues, it would be best to open a thread on the Central Station.

@Brody I will only use Central Station moving forward. I was following along there as well, but they seem to be two separate conversations at this point (only parts of this conversation were cross posted).

Why wasn't a partial outage acknowledged? There were a bunch of us experiencing the same issue.

Yes, Discord is bridged to Central Station, but those bridged threads are not put in front of an admin, and, as far as I know, we have communicated with all users who opened a native Central Station thread.

So yes, please use Central Station for platform issues; Discord is still fine for community support.
