Hello,
I creating a staging environment and now I would like to sync production environment with the staging environment. When I click the "sync" button, I'm prompted to "Sync changes from..." and can then select my production environment.
The issue is that when I select the production environment, it only shows the next "Merge changed from..." button in the UI for a fraction of a second before disappearing.
Specifically, the small "Merge 21 changes from production" box in the image on this page is the one that flashes momentarily on the screen before disappearing:

Anyone know what's going on or experiencing the same issue? Thanks.

I haven't been able to reproduce this issue in any of my environments, may I ask you for a video showing this issue?

Well that's interesting, it looks like we aren't allowing you to sync the volume alert settings.

Not sure I understood brody's response. Why is syncing in my project not working? Anything I can do to remediate the issue? I would love to use the syncing feature.

What does that have to do with me not being able to sync?

Going to echo what I had said in your duplicate post -
This a bug where you are shown that you have settings to sync, and upon starting to sync the system realizes that there is nothing to sync and disappears.
Please know that we have a ticket for this, and it is a non-blocking issue, it would not prevent you from using the sync if you actually had different settings to sync.

Brody, thanks for the response - I didn't understand from your previous "it looks like we aren't allowing you to sync the volume alert settings" why that was affecting syncing other changes - I appreciate the clarification.
I'm not understanding why my other changes aren't syncing. As you mentioned, the sync button does disappear, but there are changes that I would like to sync. At the time I recorded the gif, there were 6 changes in the staging env that I wanted to sync to production - it show these "6 changes" in the gif. This issue is blocking me from syncing those changes. Am I misunderstanding what syncing does? Thanks for you help.

You do not have any changes to apply, the volume alert changes are a bug and should not show up -
But keep in mind this bug is not blocking because you do not have any changes to sync.
This bug is not preventing you from syncing other changes, you just don't have any changes to sync right now.

Then what are the 6 changes that are referenced in the GUI? I've been changing the staged environment service (ie uploading new code via railway up). Now my staged service contains different code than my production service. Is this not a change that I can sync?
Apologies for the back and forth - I do not have access to that view you've posted a screenshot of because of the aforementioned bug.

Hmmm why do you not have access to the image I have posted? what happens when you try to open it?
But no, sync is to sync settings you have made to the service like adding environment variables, it does not sync code or data.
If you want to deploy your code to production, you should link to the production service and deploy to that service instead.

Thank you for the response - this answers my question, no longer confused. I had read this page and saw that it said:
"You can easily sync environments to import one or more services from one environment into another environment."
I interpreted this to mean that services in production env could be swapped out with one from staged env. Based on your feedback, it seems this is not the case. Perhaps I would have realized this if it weren't for the bug I've been having that the ticket was created for. Currently, I cannot access the image you posted on my end because I cannot do step 5 from here since before I can click "Details" the box disappears (see gif from earlier).
