hey there! hope everyone is doing ok. Can somebody help me to understand how billing by usage works? im currently using the hobby plan(includes 8 RAM of memory for $5) . How does this use of memory can give me a bill equivalent of half the plan cost, if I'm using only 290Mb? really need to get this because im going to deploy a way bigger project very soon.

So, here's how billing by resource usage works on Railway.
Everything (except for egress which is per GB) is billed by minute, you can check it on your Workspace Settings -> Usage -> Scroll down until you see a per-project usage where it will also show you an estimated total for the period.
The hobby plan has 5 usd of usage included, if at the end of the billing cycle you use like 3 usd of resource u will still pay for the 5 usd, if you use more than that you will pay for the 5 usd + extra resource usage.
Hobby Plan let's you use UP TO 8GB RAM and 8 vCPU per service, plans like Pro let's you use up to 32GB RAM and 16 vCPU (I think this is the part that got u confused since u mentioned 8GB RAM for 5usd)
