Hi Railway team,
I just noticed my bill for this month is $51.79, with $41 coming from egress alone (820GB). I was completely unaware that serving video files directly from Railway would result in such high bandwidth costs.
I'm building a small website for an MCP tool project, and I had uploaded some demo videos (~260MB total) to my /public folder without realizing they would be served directly through Railway rather than a CDN. Every visitor was downloading these videos, which quickly added up.
I've already removed the videos from my deployment to stop the bleeding. This was an honest mistake on my part - I simply didn't understand how egress pricing worked.
This is my first time exceeding my usage limits, and I'm just an indie developer working on a side project. Is there any possibility of getting a credit or having this charge reduced? I'd really appreciate any help.
Thank you for your understanding!!

You can try going to billing -> scroll down -> hamburger menu -> request refund to request refunds if no one from the team responds here. I'm not sure what the policy is on cost reductions though but worth a shot
To prevent something like this from happening again, you can add a usage limit by going to Usage -> Limit, that way you'll be notified / services will automatically stop if the bill ever exceeds an amount you're not comfortable with
