Hello Railway Team,
I have experienced a critical data loss event on my Postgres database service and I need to restore it from an automatic backup.
The backup/restore feature is not visible in my dashboard UI, so I cannot perform the action myself.
Could you please either restore my database to a point in time before the data loss, or provide me with a download link for a backup file?
Project ID: ef465ed6-4d0c-40e9-89e7-f689e8759b79
Service ID (Postgres): d77cebc6-4bc1-49e9-94f8-27c45b9abdef
Desired Restore Point: Please restore from the latest available backup before July 13, 2025, 10:00 AM.
This is for an n8n instance, and all my workflows and data are in this database. This is an urgent request.
Thank you.

Hello,
Backups are not available for Hobby, and thus it was never never possible for you to enable them, so there would be nothing to restore from.
Is there any way to recover all this lost data? How can I back up my entire server?

If you have not taken a backup yourself then this data would be gone unfortunately
All right. Thank you for your attention and quick response. Have a great day!

You as well!
My logs clearly show a 'No space left on device' error on July 9th, which led to my database corruption. Is there a snapshot or emergency backup that the platform takes in cases of disk fullness failure?
Nothing has failed on our side, increasing the disk size is something the user needs to do when required.
Okay. But isn't there any data backup in the railway's internal system? We were working on a large and important project, but one of our agents made a mistake with the backup. It would probably be impossible to redo.

I'm sorry but we cannot restore data unless we were at fault.
But our failure stems solely from the lack of a backup. Our server's disk was emptied automatically and without any prior warning. The data was lost due to this disk reset, which we didn't perform.

I'm sorry, but we cannot help here since you deleted the volume instead of resizing it.
But we weren't the ones who deleted it. We accessed the server after a plan change, and it was already empty. The disk was deleted by the server itself, and that's the problem.

The platform has not deleted your volume; from your activity logs, that was an action you performed 5 hours ago.
Sorry, but there was no disk or data cleanup done by us at that time, and I also checked the logs. At that time there was only redeploy.

Would you like me to share that information here?

Its my understanding that this is your Railway account?

If so, this is the action you performed 5 hours ago.
Yes, that's the account. I didn't have that information, thank you. Is there a way to undo this process? Not even if I return my plan to Pro? The responsible user will be contacted, but we'll still be at a loss.

Sorry but the data has already been deleted.
I'll have to switch platforms precisely because of this backup failure. Other platforms perform backups and provide them to us to protect against any failures, which can be common. Unfortunately, we lost an entire project because the platform doesn't provide it to us. We will be canceling our account and plan.

I understand the frustration, but backups are only available on the Pro plan. And for the sake of clarity, they wouldn't have helped since you deleted the entire volume.
