Hi Railway Support,

I’m getting the following error when trying to access/fetch a URL:

Type validation failed:

url_not_in_prior_context

The error appears to indicate that the URL is not available in the prior context, and the system then fails validation because the expected web_fetch_result object is missing.

Could you please help me identify what is causing this and how I can resolve it?

Thank you.

Hi

The error url_not_in_prior_context indicates that the system attempted to fetch a URL that was not previously referenced or registered in the active context. This usually happens if:

The URL you are trying to fetch was never included in the initial context or request chain.

The process expected a web_fetch_result object from a prior step, but it was not generated.

To resolve this issue:

Make sure the URL is properly included in the prior context before issuing the fetch.

Verify that any previous steps that are supposed to generate web_fetch_result objects are executed successfully.

If you are programmatically calling the fetch, ensure the URL is passed correctly and matches the context expected by the system.

If the problem persists, please provide the exact sequence of steps or code snippet you’re using so we can help pinpoint the issue more precisely.
