Venting - these issues with deployments are ridiculous.

As someone who uses railway to host a few different projects, I'm frustrated.

I use the service to host projects which allow me to do my regular job faster and more efficiently. I'm sure there are other options out there - and maybe I'll start exploring them soon, if this isn't resolved - but for the time being, I rely on railway.

I understand that with most tech comes issues. However, when you're paying for a 'PRO' account, there should be safeguards to protect your account from being affected by these sorts of hiccups.

I'm sure there are a lot more serious devs out there working harder than I am, who rely on railway a lot more heavily than I do, who are much more frustrated.

Should probably offer PRO users some compensation in return for this, as this kind of inconvenience may be immeasurable for some users.

Just wanted to vent - here's to hoping our deployments don't all create a bottle neck and break it again when things start working slightly_smiling_face emoji

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
It's completely valid to be frustrated when things don't work as expected, especially on a paid plan. I want to clarify that throughout this incident, all running workloads have remained online, and we've maintained uptime for user services. We're actively working to prevent these kinds of issues in the future, and your input helps us improve.

Appreciate you sticking with us. Let us know if you have any other questions or feedback.
Best,
Brody

Thanks for the response, brody -

I acknowledge that running workloads have remained online, but when we are deploying new builds and need them online, that's where the issue is. I'm sure I'm not alone here.

not convinced this is correct. my app is down. health check coming back clean, no frontend connectivity

Mine are working, but definitely might not be the case for everyone. It'd be helpful to at least understand how long they expect this outage to last - I've been having issues all day.

This is outrageous IMO. Is this app run by an amateur ?

i get that an outage like this can happen, but i swear this kind of thing happens every other day at railway now. thats wayyy too much for a host

I 100% agree too.

I love the ease Railway gives us for managing our services and resources... and "up" reliability is one thing (and yes, our app remains up whilst we can't deploy anything new), but not having the ability to deploy when we have something urgent is arguably as critical. Yes, sometimes things go down, and yes you do respond to them quickly, but the frequency of issues is much higher than other platforms we have used.

And yes, I also completely agree that some type of credit should be applicable to paying/pro accounts.

@brody - still wondering if you have a time frame for how long you expect this outage to last.

Thanks for your patience and for sharing your feedback. Your frustration is completely justified. This level of disruption isn’t what we aim for, especially for Pro users.

Recovery is underway: Pro and Hobby deploys are now restored, and Free and Trial deploys will be re-enabled shortly.

We know how critical reliable deployments are, and we’re actively working to prevent this from happening again. Thanks for sticking with us through this.
