Verify Account with GitLab

I'm trying to verify my account so that I can create project tokens but when I click Verify Account in the project area, I'm redirected to https://railway.com/workspace/plans and a screen that says "Your trial is over" before flipping back to "Unlock the Full Trial" with paid plan options underneath. So I unlock a "Trial" by signing up for a paid option?

I read online that verification requires connecting to GitHub. I don't use GitHub because of commit vulnerabilities (https://trufflesecurity.com/blog/anyone-can-access-deleted-and-private-repo-data-github), and I had read that GitLab can be used to deploy. Can I use GitLab to verify the account too? If so, how?

Correct, that would be the only way in this scenario.

Unfortunately, no, GitHub or a paid plan only.

I had read that GitLab can be used to deploy.

Not natively, no, you would need to set up an action to do it - https://blog.railway.com/p/gitlab-ci-cd
