One of our services was automatically moved over to EU metal region (whilst redis and postgres remained on the old regions) and we saw response times for our API increase 5 fold.
Moving the service back off metal has restored response times to a more acceptable level.
For now can we avoid having services moved automatically to metal?

This is likely due to the fact that your services are remaining in the old region, was the issue with the raw performance or latency?

I will add some monitoring to confirm where the latency is coming from. In the meantime is it correct that I can't move my redis or postgres services to metal? I don't see metal regions listed in the dropdown.

You should be able to. I see them in the dropdown for your redis instance. If you can't see them can you enclose a screenshot?

Hi, any update?

Hello,
You will need to have the Metal Volumes feature flag enabled -
https://railway.com/account/feature-flags
Then you can migrate that service over to Metal.
Best,
Brody
