I saw a few posts showing the use of cloudflare tunnel with railwayapp private networking, what is actually needed?

first off, why do you think it may be needed?
From what I've seen it seems like an alternative to using instead of the simple DNS records provided by railway, but is there any kind of advantage?

if railway's proxy goes down then your site wont go down, but beyond that theres not too many benefits, railway's proxy does not go down often enough
in the site records I used CNAME www to @, doesn't it cause any problems?

your cloudflare side of things is fine, but the www subdomain is not going to work unless it is included in the public networking of your service

this statement mentions the www subdomain, but it applies for any subdomain
