Why can't other team members approve stuck deployments?

FACTS:

  • I have a pro plan.

  • I have a project synced to a Github repo on the "dev" branch

  • I have another team member, Bob, added as an Admin in Railway.

  • Another team member, Charle, also commits code to the repo.

  • Charlie is not a user in Railway.

  • Bob and Charlie are repo admins.

ISSUE:

  • When Bob commits to dev, Railway auto-deploys

  • When Charlie commits to dev, Railway says it needs deployment approval

  • Bob cannot approve Charlie's deployments.

  • I can approve Charlie's deployments.

ASK:

  • How can I configure Railway so that Charlie's code auto-commits?

  • How can I configure Railway so that Bob can approve Charlie's deployments?

Hey Aslan,

I hear you. Deployment Approvals had a rough feature rollout. It's been a little bit difficult because we've been running into a lot of edge cases with how people deploy their repos.

First and foremost, the intended flow is to make it so that you connect your GitHub account over to your Railway account. Every single account that has a link will automatically be allowed to deploy commits to their repo on Railway.

However, we understand that there are cases where you might have contractors or you might have guest working in your repo. to handle this case if you invite a member to your project under the project settings (top right), this will allow any future deployment to be automatically approved.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Angelo
