Hello Railway
I'm experiencing a critical issue with my PostgreSQL service and need help recovering my data before it's lost.
Problem Summary:
My PostgreSQL service keeps crashing with "No space left on device" errors
Database system shuts down during startup/recovery process
n8n application can no longer connect to the database
All my n8n workflows and credentials are stored in this PostgreSQL instance
What I've tried:
Upgraded to paid plan (8GB storage allocated)
Multiple redeployments
Configuration fixes
The volume appears to be in a corrupted state despite having sufficient storage
Current Status:
PostgreSQL service: CRASHED (won't start)
n8n service: INACCESSIBLE (can't connect to DB)
Data: Trapped in persistent volume
Risk level: HIGH (critical workflow data at risk)
What I need:
Help recovering data from the persistent PostgreSQL volume
Either mount the existing volume on a new PostgreSQL instance
Or extract the data so I can import it into a fresh database
Service Details:
Service Type: PostgreSQL
Plan: Paid (8GB storage)
This contains months of work in n8n workflows that cannot be recreated. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your help š

Hey @pierre_vhm, the hobby plan has a 5GB limit on each volume. You will have to grow your volume beyond 5GB if you have upgraded to the pro plan.
@uxuz ok I see, but postgres doesn't even use all my memory, I don't understand

Hey, can you click on the volume, it's the part underneath your database. In my case, it is called pgvolume.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough, I meant this part of the service.

Ah ok lol sorry, mine is called hopeful-volume
Here is the information I find in it, I probably need to increase the 500mb?

You are right, please grow your volume to 5GB (your plan's limit), this should solve the issue.
OK, i have this message, it's ok ?
Won't I lose all my workflows in N8N?

No, you won't lose your data. This is just a warning that you can't downsize your volume, such as from 5GB to 1GB. Keep in mind that you are only getting charged for what you use and not what the volume's new limit is.

Great, I'll mark this as solved if you don't have any further questions.
