I get it, I've seen all the other threads just like this one. You don't care at all and just ban people without explaining why.
Personally, I don't care. I will gladly switch to another provider. The real problem is that I had a Postgres DB on Railway. You shut it down, and now I can't even run a backup to retrieve my data. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Unfortunately, we're not able to share the specific reason behind the restriction, and for paid workspaces the restriction cannot be reversed. We're also unable to provide data exports or temporary access to retrieve data from a restricted workspace. If you'd like to end the billing relationship, you can cancel your plan from your workspace billing settings.

I demand that this ticket be escalated immediately to a human supervisor and your legal/compliance department.
While you have the right to terminate a service contract, you do not have the legal right to withhold my proprietary data. Under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and international data protection laws, I have an absolute right to access and port my data. Refusing to provide a temporary window or a data export to retrieve my Postgres database is an unlawful retention of my property.
I am not asking to reactivate the workspace; I am demanding immediate, temporary access solely to run a backup of my database, or for your team to send me a secure dump of my Postgres data.
If you refuse to comply and continue to withhold my data, I will be forced to file an official complaint with the Data Protection Authorities (DPA) and pursue legal remedies for the damages caused by the loss of this data.
I expect a response from a manager or legal representative within 24 hours.

The restriction applies to the workspace and everything running in it, including the Postgres database. We're not able to grant temporary access or produce a data export from a restricted workspace, and this isn't something we can make an exception on.

I acknowledge your stance, but company policy does not supersede international law. As an EU citizen, I am protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Under Article 15 (Right of Access) and Article 20 (Right to Data Portability), you are legally obligated to provide me with access to my personal and proprietary data. Completely denying me a data export of my Postgres database constitutes an unlawful withholding of my data and a direct breach of the GDPR.
Please route this message immediately to your Data Protection Officer (DPO) or Legal Department.
If I do not receive a secure export of my database or a temporary 24-hour window to retrieve it within 48 hours, I will immediately:
- File a formal complaint with the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and my national Data Protection Authority.
- Escalate this to your payment processor for breach of contract, as you are withholding services/data paid for.
This is a formal legal notice. I expect to hear exclusively from your legal team or DPO.
