can you explain what steps we need to take to add read replicas?

A step by step would be really helpful, we are trying to use this template for our service in production and we want to make sure we know the correct meccamism to add replicas in the future.

Seems the template is outdated, I see mistakes in mysql nodes being unable to do replication
Could be great to update to mysql9 as well
