but the thread is closed. I want to echo the OP's complaint on this. I realize you architected things like this but it's a real problem because you cannot duplicate environments across projects. So I have one project with some names duplicated between some of its environments and other names not duplicated, and no obvious reason why. And I can't open a separate project and duplicate one of the first project's environments over, I have to totally start over.

The linking isn't transparent at all. I have production and sales-demos environments seemingly linked, and then all previous environments seemingly linked. Is this because the linking happens when you duplicate environments, and I created my production environment totally manually ? (back when i started there was no "duplicate environment" feature).

Anywayyyy... I know Brody says "tough sh-t, live with it" but really, it's not good. If it's really just a cosmetic thing (service names), then my vote is, separate them between environments. I can't see a single reason why I would want them to be identical between environments unless I hit the "sync" button.
