Got something cool you've built on Railway? We want to see it in action and learn how you built it!

It could be a production workload, complex architecture you're proud of, or a clever solution to a tricky problem

Tell us how you built it, share the interesting bits with the community: your architecture decisions, what challenges you hit, how you solved them — "here's what I learned building this thing"

Bonus points for showing off Railway features most people might not know about or using them in creative ways!

We're picking multiple winners, so if you've shipped something that you want to talk about, we want to hear about it! ..and walk us through the nitty gritty technical details of how you did it

What's the most technically interesting thing in your Railway dashboard? smile emoji

To submit:

  1. Go to station.railway.com/community

  2. Click the ā€œStart Discussionā€ button and write about your project

  3. Drop a link to it in this thread for us to review

Hey!

I am aware that this project more than likely does not meet what you guys are looking for, since it is not architecturally fancy or anything nor does it use any "advanced" railway features, but I thought, hey, why not share and get community feed back!

I built ghRadar, but the real challenge was keeping the GitHub trending data fresh. Thanks to Railway, I was able to deploy the GitHub Trending API as a backend and now ghRadar pulls in real-time data without me worrying about uptime.

Railway made it super smooth — just connect, deploy, and it worked. Now the project feels alive.

Simplifying Multi-Client Deployment with Railway

After taking on this project (which a friend passed my way), I knew I needed a hosting solution that would be both affordable for the client and easy to manage. Railway's free tier allowed me to quickly demo a mockup that sold the client on the approach.

What started as a simple proof of concept evolved into a robust, multi-client setup that has proven incredibly reliable. While not the most complex Railway implementation out there, the ability to maintain separate environments for related businesses using a single codebase has been a game-changer for this project.

The client couldn't be happier with the results, and Railway's support team has been exceptional whenever I've needed assistance. If you're curious about the technical details of how I structured the multi-environment setup, check out my full post here, where I break down the specific Railway features that made this possible.

Hope you guys like this I'm 16 and I have been coding for the last 7 years, and this is one of my first big projects, and I hope this meets your expectations
https://station.railway.com/community/made-an-api-for-a-school-management-syst-08a94f40Unfortunately, at this time, all my deployments have been paused because I have no money for the Pro version, so here is the login page. Since I cannot access the deployment link that was being used to access the api anymore, I cannot log in

edit:
Thank you, Railway, for being so fluid. I was able to downgrade to the free plan in seconds and redeploy my services in moments. Here are some pictures of the website.

I have created [verbals.io](https://verbals.io/?ref=railway-station) and we've been running on Railway for couple of years now.

Verbals is a platform for web novels readers and writers.

Hey everyone, thank you all so much for sharing everything you've built on Railway raised_hands emoji ! These are really cool projects!

Wanted to share some quick feedback on what would make these even more valuable to the Railway community — we're curious, more about "here's the interesting technical decision I made."

Tell us about the architecture and implementation choices you made while building (could be super simple or highly complex, still very helpful knowledge share)

Couple of things that could make these posts shine:

  • Show us your setup - Code snippets of your Railway config, what’s your service structure like, how did you use variable references, screenshots of your dashboard.,

  • The technical "why" - Why Redis over something else? Why a certain database approach? How'd you structure / organize your services?,

  • The interesting bits - @alan mentioned the database proxy script - that's awesome stuff! What creative solutions did you come up with?,

  • Make it easy to follow - Code snippets, specific commands, enough detail that someone learning / following along could replicate your approach,

The dev.to posts from Noah and Sam shared in the first comment (here) are really great examples and closer to this vibe — they show the technical decisions and actual implementation.

If you edit your post based on this feedback, please drop a comment or reaction to this message and we’ll check them out!

Thank you for the feedback! I have updated my original post, and then I replied to the original post with some screenshots (I may be dumb but could not find a way to add attachments to the post itself) so make sure to look in the replies to find the screenshots of my app. I did not add one of the Railway layout due to the limited number of images you could upload - if you would like I could replace one of the current screenshots with my Railway services.

Reading this just makes me even more sad that Railway still doesn't have GPU's :(

flow chart budgeting is an interesting concept. Where did you get that idea from/why do you think it's better than standard rows and columns?

I originally got the idea from ads from an app called Sequence - where you can setup similar flow chart budgets; however their program will move the money from your physical accounts to other physical bank accounts (unlike mine for now). I have also found to to be way more intuitive to use. You can simple drag a revenue account onto the budget-board, and then drag off of that and map out your expenses and profit. I plan on adding more features to it as well - such as the ability to have it automatically move your money throughout your chart of accounts either when a threshold is hit or with a set time period. There is a demo video of it in action near on the website https://greenvaultaccounting.com if you are interested in seeing what it looks like!

It definitely looks interesting. Feels like it would be a little slower than just using a spreadsheet though. But could be cool for non-accounting folks to have a visual.

Yea I am trying to maintain a balance between having full accounting control - for those who know accounting - and also having higher level abstraction for business owners who know very little or nothing about it. It would be cool though to have two different tabs where you could chose to either use the flow chart or just type it up in a spread sheet type way to give the flexibility to people!
