How does the railway calculate the cost per project? Can I subscribe to the hobby plan and run 5 servers for my portfolio projects for a full month? (no heavy traffic)

Hey codemiz,

Yes, you can absolutely run multiple projects and servers under one Hobby subscription. The $5 isn’t “per project,” it’s for your whole account. So if you’ve got 5 portfolio projects, they all fall under that same plan.

Since you mentioned no heavy traffic, chances are your servers will stay pretty lightweight. Lots of devs say their small apps don’t even go past the $5 usage credit. For example, someone ran multiple services for weeks and still hadn’t been billed beyond their included credit.

Basically, if your apps aren’t chewing up tons of RAM or CPU, you’ll likely just pay $5 total for the month — even with 5 servers.

This is the whole reason railway exists. Usage based fees. Which means on 5 low usage projects you could probably run these.
