Hello Railway Team,
I'm experiencing an issue with my custom domain robotcoingame.com
for my project.
I have successfully added robotcoingame.com
as a custom domain in my project settings on Railway. The platform instructed me to add a CNAME record for the root domain (@
) pointing to z19zidj4.up.railway.app
.
However, my domain registrar, GoDaddy, does not allow adding a CNAME record for the root domain (@
) due to conflicts with existing NS and SOA records, which cannot be deleted or modified. This prevents me from following your exact instructions for the root domain.
Despite this:
I was able to successfully configure a CNAME record for
www.robotcoingame.com
in GoDaddy, pointing toz19zidj4.up.railway.app
.When I visit
https://www.robotcoingame.com
in my browser, it now correctly hits Railway's servers, displaying a "Not Found" page with "The train has not arrived at the station" message, which indicates successful DNS resolution to your platform.
However, in my Railway project settings, the status for robotcoingame.com
is currently "Waiting for DNS update").
My goal is to have my project content displayed correctly when accessing robotcoingame.com
(or www.robotcoingame.com
if necessary, redirecting to the root).
Could you please advise on how to properly configure my domain robotcoingame.com
to display my project, given GoDaddy's limitation regarding CNAME records for the root domain? Is there an alternative method (e.g., specific A records) I should use, or another way to handle this on Railway's side?
Thank you for your assistance.
