I only use a pre pay card I use it on all other subscription. why is it not billing. Is there a way I could pay using mpesa?

About the $1 - when you add a credit card, Railway places an authorization hold for a small amount on your card. We do this to verify the validity of the newly added payment method.

The amount never leaves your account, and the hold is released after a short period, typically less than 2 days.

so then why not just use the same card to bill me for the hobby plan every month. it's much convinient since I only have to load it every time I want to payt up, rather than credit card which has direct access to my account.

Depending on your region, there are services that allow you to create virtual cards with set limits. This may be a solution for you if you're worried about over-spending.

isn't it the same, I can already see you guys have already billed me a dollar. that means the prepay card is already working. I don't get why you can't just let me subscribe using the same one, Instead of going back to the bank and applying for another card to serve the same purpose; and will most likely take 3-5 bussiness days to be ready

I can't get a credit card, I only use the current card saved on my account. This is only getting worse

mastercard debit cards also work, but unfortunately prepaid cards are not compatible with our way of billing.

But those are directly linked to a persons account. That's risky. But how comes I was billed the $1 multiple times and the transaction went through? that means the card I already have works, Right? I Reckon this shouldn't be this difficult. I need to subscribe to the hobby plan and be done with this. I don't get it. Why not just bill me From this card. it's already working, and is an even better alternative

This limitation is put in place on our payment provider level, and is not something we can go and toggle for your account. We charge $1 as a hold to test the card, which is returned. Depending on the hold type, the payment method may not be eligible.

Hiya,

We don't control the payment provider. If they choose to prevent your transaction, there's nothing we can do. The payment you're attempting to pay with does not have enough funds according to our system.

We only accept regular credit cards. If you're trying to pay with a prepaid card, that won't work.
