I have a Hobby Plan with only one Project cotaining only one very simple Java developed service. Its a very simple app to show it in my personal Portfolio.
About 4 month you automatically upgraded it to Metal. After that I noted a singnificant increase in my costs.
I never had to pay more than the $5 included in my plan. And now I'm paying more than $10. Looking my project usage it shows an increase in the RAM usage.
The cost up to date is $7.58 and the estimated was $10.50 aprox.
I restarted an old deploy (previuos to the auto deployed on Metal) and now I see an estimated Bill of $8.23
Will this change get my cost back to less than $5??

Hello,
About 4 months ago, we migrated all services to Metal infrastructure. However, any memory usage increases are coincidental - Metal and Legacy systems function identically, with Metal simply being different host machines. Memory usage changes are not caused by the infrastructure migration.
Memory costs reflect your application's actual usage, not our infrastructure. We run your application and bill based on the memory it consumes.
While you may have restarted an old deployment, it's now also running on Metal since Legacy regions are no longer available.
To reduce costs, you'll need to optimize your application's memory usage. This would involve analyzing your Java application's memory consumption patterns and making code-level optimizations.
Best,
Brody
