Everything was working fine this morning, but about 2 hours ago my Postgres database on Railway suddenly became extremely slow. Queries were taking much longer than usual.

I tried restarting the service, but now the database is stuck at the “Database Connection” step in the Postgres Data UI.

In the logs I’m seeing repeated lines like: could not receive data from client: Connection reset by peer

and sometimes very long checkpoint syncs (e.g., sync=78s, total=106s).

I’ve already tried:

• Restarting the database instance

• Checking my app env vars (unchanged since last week)

• Testing both CLI tunnel and external URL

But the issue persists, not able to connect via application or Postico 2, Railway’s own Data UI can’t connect either.

Any idea what might be causing this, or what else I can try?

Updates:

Just tried redeploy as well, no error at all but the deployment failed. All the other project is working fine.
