Hello Support Team,
We’re running a Strapi 5 app on your platform and need to send transactional emails via Brevo’s SMTP on port 587 (STARTTLS). Locally everything works, but in our preproduction deployment every send hangs and ends with a Nodemailer “Connection timeout.” This suggests outbound SMTP is blocked from the service.
Connectivity tests executed from an interactive shell in the preprod container show:
nc -vz smtp-relay.brevo.com 587 → Connection timed out.
openssl s_client -starttls smtp -connect smtp-relay.brevo.com:587 → connection closes before TLS handshake.
Conclusion: outbound TCP to smtp-relay.brevo.com:587 is being filtered in preprod (and likely production). Could you please allow egress TCP to smtp-relay.brevo.com on port 587 for our preprod and production services so we can use standard 587/STARTTLS submission? We’ll re-test immediately once opened.
Current SMTP settings required:
Host: smtp-relay.brevo.com
Port: 587 (STARTTLS)
Auth: SMTP username/password (Brevo)
If you need project/service/environment IDs or outbound IPs, happy to provide them. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello,
Outbound SMTP is only available on the Pro plan and above, while Free, Trial, and Hobby plans have SMTP disabled.
For sending emails from your application, please use a dedicated email service that provides HTTPS APIs. More information can be found in our documentation:
