Hello Railway Support Team,
I am experiencing a critical issue with email notifications from my application hosted on Railway. Until recently, outbound emails through my SMTP provider (PrivateEmail.com) were working correctly. However, they are now failing due to connection timeouts.
Here are the details:
- SMTP credentials: Verified and correct
- SMTP configuration: Confirmed and unchanged
- Email templates: Functional and previously tested successfully
- Issue: Railway cannot establish a network connection to PrivateEmail’s SMTP servers. The connection attempt results in timeouts.
This suggests that the issue is related to:
- Network connectivity between Railway’s infrastructure and PrivateEmail
- Possible firewall/routing problems
- Potential IP blocks on PrivateEmail’s side against Railway IP ranges
This is urgent, as email notifications (password resets and system alerts) are core to my application workflows. Could you please investigate this connectivity issue and advise if Railway’s outbound connections to PrivateEmail SMTP are currently restricted or blocked?
If needed, I can provide sample logs and error messages to assist in troubleshooting.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Best regards,
Keny Martin

Hey there! We've found the following might help you get unblocked faster:
- 🧵 Request to allow outbound SMTP to smtp-relay.brevo.com:587
- 🧵 Issue with SMTP connection on Railway (Error 500)
- 🧵 Subject: Connection Timeout with smtp.gmail.com on Port 465
If you find the answer from one of these, please let us know by solving the thread!

Hello,
Outbound SMTP is only available on the Pro plan and above, while Free, Trial, and Hobby plans have SMTP disabled.
For sending emails from your application, please use a dedicated email service that provides HTTPS APIs. More information can be found in our documentation:

Best regards,
The Railway Team
