Credit Vs. Usage Descrepency

I am starting out with Railway. I am seeing the $5 credit used up in less than a month, however, when I check my usage, I only see about $0.40.
Where is the credit going? If 'usage' is not showing the whole story how can I see where the money is going?

Railway will charge you $5 every month. This includes $5 of usage, and if you don't use it, you will not be refunded. If you use more than $5, you will get charged at the end of the month the difference.
