getting the same, not sure where it's hanging. no config changes in 24 hours with prior successful builds/runs

West europe? Some. Only switching the region helped. But speed dropped noticeably.

Are you using metal builder for your service that got stuck?

i wasn't, then tried it with metal. i was also in us-west, migrated to us-east. saw failures in all configs.

at one point migrated back to us-west with metal on, and it deployed successfully. i'm no longer blocked, but i also don't know what the underlying issue was.

Hmm yeah sorry you're running into these.
We have a project going on which should be fixing a whole bunch of the flow from "push code" -> "get it live".

That being said, if you run into deployments that are stuck i've seen it happen with metal builders more frequently. Could you try disabling that and see how it looks?
